Safety

 

Fencing is a very safe sport. Contrary to what some people might think, the swords are not sharp. Plus, the protective equipment fencers wear is very strong. In fact, a lot of it is made of Kevlar, which is bullet-proof material. For more information on the protective equipment, please visit our “The Basic Info” page.

 

At the club, we also enforce certain rules to keep our fencers safe. For example, we do not allow anyone to swing sabres toward people who are not wearing their masks or protective equipment.
